cleaning out the garage yesterday turned up two more brown paper bags. empty, of course. each bag had a receipt for the ABC store. for the same day. the first one was for 4:30 p.m., approximately 5 minutes after he left the house to go to the grocery store. the second one was for 5:45 p.m., but came from a different ABC store.

basically that means he was driving around after finishing off a pint of gin. and then he bought more and drank almost half of that before he came home.

this was tuesday afternoon. the day we got back from our trip to 'fix things' in the relationship. the very day we had a discussion about how in 2 years time his DUIs would be expunged from his record.

naturally he drank last night as well, because hey, it is a day that ends in "y" and he did go to work, and silly me asked him to stop at the pharmacy to pick up some prescription refills.

i'm supposed to trust him. i'm supposed to be patient and not complain, but to put on a good face, for my own sanity. that's what al-anon says, anyway, but it all sounds like a pretty firm definition of insanity, per Albert Einstein, to me.
